Music Video - Location Planning

In terms of filming for my music video, the plot follows the lead individual arriving to meet his friends and driving to the woods so the video will be split into 3 separate locations. My intention for the first location is that whilst visiting Paris I take some establishing shots which can be used in between lip syncing etc and can be used for cutting to the beat. Shots of landmarks and point of view shots from transport is how I want the main character to meet his friends so as well as Paris, we require the Kettering Train station as a location for the meeting points. This means we can use effects in editing to act as if the actor is arriving directly from Paris to meet his friends.

The shots in Paris will be used without any characters. Its purpose is to be used when cutting to the beat to represent the lead actors travels. Also shots of the Eiffel tower will be combined with text by using the clipping mask tool in Premier Pro at the start of the video to show the conventional Group name and song etc

The train station will show the shots of the lead actor meeting with the rest of the cast. We want this encounter to take place by the train and potentially record some lip syncing as a train passes. This will need to be done at a time that is relatively busy so It shows people walking past. If no lip syncing takes place we can still record people getting on the train and the train taking off which can be sped up.

The next shots would take place in James car so we can film this while driving up towards our main location. While this is not in a specific place we require the car to perform lip syncing of the chorus. The main location we are filming in needs to be secluded as we are setting off the red smoke. I decided on Grafton Underwood as the location as It is unlikely we will be getting in the way of other people and we have permission to film there as the location is not private property. Most of our lip syncing will take there as well as the releasing of the red smoke grenade. I will need the area to have lots of open space for the cast to move around and for me to get a variety of angles to film from e.g. low angle and worms eye view shots.

The final location I want to film in is a flashback scene that shows that the lead actor is returning home to see his friends. I have more than one idea for this location as we may be restricted for where we can film. The first idea is the front of Boughton house as the flashback shows our lead actor receive a reward such as a university degree in front of an established building. The lawn would be a good idea as it shows the front of the house and the camera angle we are filming from means we only need 2 characters from the cast to film this scene which will only take about 15-20 seconds of screen time. The second location incase we don't have access to Boughton house is the front of the Borough council building in Kettering. It looks relatively similar to Boughton house however there is less space. It is located near the train station so we could film the two scenes on the same day. The lawn space at the front is where would film simialr to Boughton house.
