Music Video Casting - Secondary Cast Members

1) Max

 



Name : Max Ryan 
Height : 5'10 
Favourite Artist : Ed Sheeran 
Hobbies: Physics, Sports

Max has a less significant roll in the production than Harry, however his role in the video is still crucial as his car will be an essential prop. However, his inclusion in the video was not solely due to his drivers license. Max also possesses the ability to perform in front of a camera, having featured in videos on Youtube regarding physics tutoring. Having an interest in media was also a reason i acquired Max's services as he is aware of what it takes to produce a video (correct camera work/settings) and can comprehend the technical jargon if necessary. Max also featured in my preliminary task back in September 2016 when my editing ability wasn't as good as it has become in recent months as well as previously being interviewed for my horror film opening task. I feel the roll this time around suits his acting style more so decided to cast him in this role.

2) Sam 




Name : Sam Thompson

Height: 5'7

Favourite Artist: 2Pac  

Hobbies: Football, Gaming

Sam was really enthusiastic about participating in our music video. Studying drama and having an awareness of media terminology and camera shots, he would be a great addition to the cast. He has previously demonstrated his ability to lip synch in front of the camera, intending to pursue a career in drama. This will help when filming the chorus as he can assist James and Harry who are less experienced. Sam's personality was the main reason I decided to cast him. He enjoys the filming process and will improve the morale of the group if areas of production becomes tedious such as constant re shooting of scenes.

3) Cam



Name : Cameron Gunn 

Height : 5'9 

Favourite Band : Rolling Stones, Oasis

Hobbies : Music !!!

While Cam is unable to commit for the majority of the production time he is able to make a cameo role in the music video; giving Harry his certificate and posing for a picture with him in the flashback scene. Cam would have been a first choice but due to work commitments he can only perform in once scene but is eager to feature in the video due to his interest in The Royal Concept. He has experience working with music videos, featuring in his bands videos for their upcoming EP, this was helpful in me gaining a better understanding of timing (splitting filing up over a greater period and understanding the camera battery life differs between each camera) 

I had various choices when deciding who to cast for the music video but decided to shortlist these 3 for the abilities they bring to the group. As well as these 3 I had other options that I decided to not cast. I also conducted interviews with all the cast members.




Name : Esmael Farhadian 

Reason : Unable to commit to filming schedule and not confident in front of the camera.



Name : Rhys Vhallas

Reason: Wasn't interested in having his image photoshopped and wasn't confident with the lip synching element of the production, was awkward during the interview process.
